Free International Texting and Calls – almost

I am about to give you a step by step method to get free international texting and free international calls (almost).

Note: We have updated this article, because Google Voice has stopped 3rd party access. Thus, the Talkatone app no longer works with Google Voice which made texting and calling 100% free.

The good news is that the Talkatone app still works for free international texting and phone calls (almost). As of 8/27/2014, the Talkatone charges are as follows:

FREE texting;
FREE inbound calling;

Outbound calls on Talkatone to US phone numbers cost 1 credit per minute.

If you want to compare this to your cellular service provider, 60 minutes costs a mere $9.99 . Furthermore, the only thing that you will pay for is “outbound calls.” Also, Talkatone gives you 20 free credits/minutes just for signing up!

There is no catch other than you must follow the step by step process and have a wifi connection to talk and text for free out of the country.

STEPS TO GET FREE INTERNATIONAL TEXTING AND CALLS :

1- Download an app called Talk a Tone on your smart phone and follow the guided instructions. We were able to talk and text for FREE while vacationing in Antigua at Carlisle Bay , St. Vincent at Buccament Bay and Grenada at Spice Island.

3- Talk A Tone uses a wifi connection so none of your cell minutes are being used and thus it is FREE as long as you have a wifi connection.

Note: If you want to also receive calls for FREE while traveling internationally, simply forward your U.S. cell phone number to the your Talk a Tone phone number and you will receive all of your phone calls for free over wifi via the talk a tone app. Is this brilliant or what ?!
