The Villas At The Grand Floridian Set The Bar For Luxury At Disney World
Admittedly, I have never been a huge fan of staying on Disney property while visiting Disney World. Thus, my expectations of being overly impressed by the Villas at the Grand Floridian were pretty low.
I had stayed at several other Deluxe Disney World resorts, and none of them met the standard of a five star hotel in my opinion. Thus, I had no reason to believe the Villas at the Grand Floridian would be more than a four star property.
This happens on VERY rare occasions, so listen up.
I was wrong. So there you go, I admitted it. I, Tamala Prickett, was wrong in assuming that the Villas at the Grand Floridian were anything less than a luxury 5 star property at Disney World.
I was impressed immediately upon entering the Villas at the Grand Floridian. Yes, I got the usual “welcome home” greeting by the Grand Floridian staff.
More impressive than the greeting, was the luxurious lobby at the Grand Floridian Villas. Check out the Mary Poppins inspired fountain and gorgeous chandeliers in the lobby of the Villas at the Grand Floridian.
If that were not enough, could you just walk back into Victorian times with the picture or what? I have only a few short years, maybe months, to dress my little man like this so I am soaking it up. This picture made it totally worth it!
Okay, so on to the Villas at the Grand Floridian rooms. Honestly, I expected a nice lobby but I did not expect what I saw next. We stayed in a 2 bedroom Grand Floridian villa, and words cannot describe how luxurious this villa is for a family of 5 at Disney World. First of all, the villa is huge (over 1200 sq. feet) and the storage space was even more amazing! The 2 bedroom Grand Floridian villa has a full kitchen with top of the line appliances and amenities, just like you would find at any five star property.
The Villas at the Grand Floridian also have a large living area and balcony with seating. Seriously, 9 people could stay in this villa. Now, I would not want to stay with 9 people in a 2 bedroom villa. I am just telling you that the bed count allows for it, if you include the sleeper sofa and hidden bed in the living room. On that note, we especially loved the hidden bed below the flat screen TV.
The master bedroom was equally luxurious and spacious at the Villas at the Grand Floridian.
However, the master bathroom at the Grand Floridian villas took the prize! I am a sucker for a TV in a bathroom mirror. Especially, when the tv faces a jacuzzi soaking bathtub. Just saying.
Here is a last look inside the Villas at the Grand Floridian. Your children will be equally spoiled in this 2 bedroom villa with a large guestroom and their own bathroom. Sorry for the photobomb. Things happen….
As a mom, I know how important location is when considering where to stay at Disney World so here is the skinny on the location of the Villas at the Grand Floridian. The Villas at the Grand Floridian are only the 2nd Disney Vacation Club Villa on the monorail.
The monorail is super close to the villas, and closer than most of the outer buildings of the Grand Floridian main hotel. If you don’t already know, the Grand Floridian is only one stop from the Magic Kingdom on the monorail and the first stop back if you take the ferry.
You are also very close to all of the pools and restaurants at the Grand Floridian hotel. Again, the villas are just as close if not closer to the Grand Floridian main building than many of the hotel rooms.
Don’t forget that the Grand One Yacht also resides at the Grand Floridian 🙂 For the first time, I took the Grand One yacht to see the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom and let me tell you that there is no other way!
Anytime there is champagne, chocolate and a yacht involved then I am game for the ride! If you want to experience the luxury side of Disney then one cannot leave without watching the fireworks on the Grand One Yacht with a glass of champagne in hand 🙂
Here is a photo re-cap of the Villas the Grand Floridian. Enjoy!
