The New Orleans Roosevelt Bring Back Old World Glamour and Customer Service

In America, Destinations by Tamala Prickett

Chic Family Travels just checked out the Roosevelt in New Orleans which is now our new favorite New Orleans Hotel ! I will start out with the pre-arrival communication with the hotel. Prior to arrival, I received an email from a concierge at the Hotel, by the name of August. The concierge introduced himself, and made it very clear that his job was to serve our needs during our upcoming stay. Thus, I emailed August backing making a few requests such as a sleeper sofa and crib for our suite. I also requested an early check-in, due to the fact that I had planned on staying at another hotel our first night in New Orleans. I noted in my email that we were unable to reserve the Roosevelt suite at the same rate on the first night, and this was why we were not staying at the Roosevelt both nights. August promptly replied to my email, and gratiously offered to reserve the first night at the same rate as the second night for us.

Chic Family Travels was already impressed with the Roosevelt prior to arrival and it just kept getting better! Upon arrival, our suite was not quite ready. August arrived at the front desk to personally welcome us and offered us free drinks at the bar to unwind while they finished cleaning the suite. I don’t know they timed it so perfectly, but our suite was ready the second we finished our complimentary cocktails. August took us to our suite and the only word I have for the Roosevelt Astoria Suite is WOW! August has upgraded us to the Astoria Suite from the King Suite to insure we would have plenty of room with 3 children. Now, that is thoughtful service my friends! I  would not expect this upgrade each time we visit the Roosevelt by any means, but it showed me how serious the Roosevelt hotel staff were about customer service.

Chic Family Travels especially loved the bathroom! My oldest daughter took the meaning of “luxury” a little far when I found her in the bathroom enjoying the complimentary face mask and bath robe 🙂

The Roosevelt New Orleans has a fantastic roof top pool that our family thoroughly enjoyed. Having recently stayed at the Royal Sonesta, Chic Family Travels appreciated the upscale and family-appropriate environment at the Roosevelt’s roof top pool and bar. We ordered sirloin burgers from the grill. Literally!

The Roosevelt Roof Top Bar offered mocktails for the kids and adult cocktails as well. The roof top bar had a really nice menu selection in addition to the grilled burgers.

Our children loved the roof top atmosphere of the New Orleans Roosevelt pool. It was just cool to swim on the roof amongst skyscrapers!

Chic Family Travels was really sad to leave the comforts of the Roosevelt in New Orleans. August made our last night extra special by leaving us some yummy chocolates and a hand-written letter thanking us for staying at the Roosevelt. Yes, I said “hand written!”

Chic Family Travels fell in love with the Roosevelt in New Orleans and we will be back!
